Tales From the Toilet

We’ve been scrambling to get our bathroom renovation completed for the upcoming photoshoot for Cottages & Bungalows. We are doing one room reveal at a time and the first will be the bathrooms (so basically the rest of the farmhouse is in shambles).

The farmhouse originally had one very rundown bathroom which we converted to a beautiful main floor bathroom. The second story addition is where our communal bathroom resides. It was important to us to make sure that everyone could use it at one time.

Stay tuned for before/after photos along with some learnings from bumps along the way in the Cottages & Bungalows June/July issue.

We Bought a Farm

Gabe and I both grew up on farms, so naturally we have a lot of heart for wide open spaces. Living outside of Chicago is an amazing place to work and has such much to offer, however we stay balanced by escaping to a quieter place on the weekends.

With a cottage renovation under our belt in a neighboring Mi city, Holland, we are beginning our journey towards renovating a home a year until retirement. It’s something that we enjoy doing together. It’s also important to us to restore old homes in Western, MI (before they get torn down) for other families to enjoy and make memories in.

Follow along as we document our latest renovation of a 1916 farmhouse located in Fennville, MI. Cottages & Bungalows is capturing the process and completed project in all of their 2017 publications.
